EDL (part three)
First Wave I

(Lost at Birth by Public Enemy)

Simultaneously a massive gate opens from Apokolips, Darkseid's attack cruiser moving through firing at the ground while the Waverider bursts into the air on fire, shimmering and exploding between multiple versions of itself.

The cruiser fires forward down, scattering it's barrage around a 45 degree angle, clearing a path for the following troops as it approaches the near distant farm.

A siren in the cell block.
____

Inside the Waverider, the crew flickers with the lights and sparks while the captain stomps the control panels.  They pass between versions of themselves in the same place, and scattered.  Some missing showing the others mourning, then back again all prepared, in varied states.
____

A siren on the battleship, crew running to task.
____

Martha Kent is washing dishes and dancing with giant 70's headphones, oblivious to the destruction seen through her window,
____

Lanterns arrive soon after and land, their craft emanating from their rings (each has two) they (20 ?) each quickly make barriers with their rings, back-braced to take the missile impacts as the ship drives them back toward the house.
____

Flash runs faster and faster through the streets as sonic booms shatter glass in his path out of town.
____

Martha shakes it.
____

The Suicide Squad cells doors slide open in the compound, at the door out is Flagg holding their 'control box' and dropping it in the trash.
____

Arkham inmates file past the Joker's observation window as he watches them from the full body restraints, shaking them hard.  Some apologize, some taunt, the last is Batman tapping the glass and smiling, leaving him there.
____

Suicide Squad gears up, joined by the special force military.
____

Martha does a boogie spin while the TV news shows her field getting destroyed.
____

Constantine tearing down a dirt road, trying to control a cab with a coffin hanging out of the trunk.
____

The Waverider, near Darkseid's cruiser gets shot down by the time police exploding out after them.

Rip Hunter - Fist in the air, _"Yes !"_  Sees the cruiser, walking craft and ground soldiers exiting the gate.

They all turn to attack.
____

Near Martha, Flash cannonballs though a window, flying past her unnoticed while she dances and spins, sipping her wine.

He walks up at fast but human speed, pulls the plug from the radio.

Martha turns and sees him "Ah !"  Sees out the window past him _"! AH !"_

Flash - "Ms. Kent ... we need to go."

Martha - "Well clearly ... but why are you still in your pajamas ?"

*30,000 years ago*
*Apokolips*

Darkseid and DeSaad look over the battle cruiser's designs.  It looks pretty much like that big dumb asteroid people keep saying is a UFO.

Darkseid - Suspiciously, "I prefer rockets to lasers, you know.  Missiles and bombs and such."  He raises his fist.  "They strike the _fear."_

DeSaad - "Indeed they do.  We've redesigned the base structure for all your _personal_ comforts."

A child Orion plays with the model, crashing it.

Deadshot looks at the cruiser, then over the field through his scope, helicopter landed behind him.  Flagg walks toward while the rest prepare.  Deadshot takes an occasional shot, lazily dropping one of the countless hoards firing against the Lanterns' green barriers, a random flier falling from the swarm gathering over the field, torn at by the ground troops for flesh.

The Lanterns fire lancing shots through the shields with the other ring between returning it's function as a brace for the high shields.  Occasionally one is caught off, the shield struck without brace, tumbling them backward as the shield wraps to protect his body before they recovers to the line.

At the front of the line, the Legends battles them back desperately, all their powers and abilities apparently enhanced by their time fixing, and chaotic results from their strikes and in the weather. Above them the remaining time police attack the invaders, taking heavy fire, dropping fast.

As they approach each other, small gusts and whirlwinds filled with static begin appearing in their passing as they fan out in control of this, six of each person.

Darkseid's army is filled with ground runners, fliers and walking craft, all dominated by his battle cruiser still yet to exit the gate entirely as it's slow destruction of the land and fields works its way blindly over the farmhouse.

Flagg looks with him.  Behind him the army begins setting up their operating base.

Flagg - Chewing a wheat straw, pulling pages from a manila envelope, "We got us some intel ... you're gonna love it."

Deadshot - Still looking over the field, taking random shots.  "Oh ! Some intel !  That sounds nice.  What are we having ?"

Flagg - "We got ..." he looks at the file pulled from the manilla envelope, "Inter.  Dimensional.  Aliens."

Deadshot - "Oh good.  And it looks like all of them too."

Flagg - "That's about it.  _Apparently_ he's got eight billion of those motherfuckers lined up, all in a row."

Deadshot - "Hm.  A real mathematician."  He takes a shot.

Flagg - "Yeah ... and I guess they want to eat us too."

Deadshot - "Huh."  Takes a shot.  "Well that just makes my day."

Flagg - "Yeah.  Gloves are off and you get your parole."

Deadshot smiles and takes a shot.

Duct tape gets pulled off a roll in an 'X' in two slashes.
____

Deadshot sits on the helicopters front mounted chain-gun, duct-taped across his chest with an 'X' to the front.  

Deadshot - Calling to Flagg as he starts the helicopter, "So where the hell are all those", sarcastically, " 'Superfriends' with the big powers and all that ?"

Flagg - Yelling over the engines starting, _"It was in the intel package !  But I didn't want to ruin the surprise !"_  Closes the door.

A shadow passes over them, Deadshot looks up and sees the two battleships flying above them, carried by Clark and Kara, decks filled with Atlanteans and their battle cries, Mera at the bow of one, Arthur, the other.

Flagg - Over the comm, _"There's our cover-fire.  Now let's get this done."_

Four more helicopters take off behind them as he pulls his mask on and checks his guns.  "And then go home."

Darkseid - "Is the cargo bay spacious enough for a _full_ invasion, though ?"

DeSaad - "My Lord it is almost entirely cargo bay, engines, and guns. All re-fitted to your ... _universally_ known tastes."

Darkseid - "Oh !"

Orion - "But it rolls really easily so won't the entire mortal crew fall on their heads and die when it crashes ?"  He rolls the model.  "Ahhh ..."

They pause and look at him confused ...

DeSaad - Turning back to Darkseid, "Well as you can see we use these cranes to stack the vehicles ..."

Darkseid - "Ah yes ..."

Sara fights in the battlefield, after a dropping an opponent a gun goes to the back of her head.  

Sara - "Really ?  Now ?"

Rip - "Oh I'm afraid so Sara.  _Right_ now."  

A revolver goes to his head from behind.

Jonah Hex - "What are you doing with that gun looking like mine ?"  He takes the gun and cracks it in half.  "What are you doing with that coat ?"  He yanks Rip's coat off and tears it.

Other Saras walk up, wind swirling between them from the time-space displacement, crackling around them, shimmering between versions of themselves.

A Sara - "And in how many time lines did you really think you could get the drop on me ?"

Sara - "Sorry ... I was hurting this alien ..."  She stomps the alien.

Hex holsters his gun.  "Ladies ?"

Saras start boxing Rip from all sides to the growing storms ...

The helicopter rises as the battleships fly over, Deadshot's vision system locking on to the incoming missiles and fliers as he starts to shoot.

Scenes of the field, the walkers and soldiers advancing, mixed With Sarahs' punches on a spinning Rip.  The helicopter's view and through Deadshot's lock-ons.  Tiny tornadoes swarm the field around the fight, focusing into hits.

At the edge of the file, Swam Thing stands, beginning to sprout growth around the field.  Vise and root begin to tangle the walkers closest to him, then growing further outward.

Constantine walks up behind the amused Hex watching Rip and the Sarahs (dumb band name) in the dusty wind, and passes a bottle joining him.

Hex - "Thanks."  Drinks eying him, "Nice coat."  Passes it back.

Constantine - "You too."  Gesturing toward the growing forest between tangled walkers,   "You know I think I saw a rabbit in them thar woods ..."

Hex - Looking past him, "Yeah ?"  Draws his gun and starts walking ...

A Sara walks up watching the fight and snatches the bottle from Constantine about to drink.

Sara - After the drink, watching hers fight, "Damn I look good."

Constantine - "I wouldn't know anything about that."

Sara - "Whatever.  Your grandma's great's fucking _hot,_ by the way."  Hit's him in the chest with the bottle passing with a gust.

Constantine - "Fine ... _fine !"_  He walks away toward the ops base drinking.

EDL (part four)
First Wave II
________________

On the ground from behind the clear Lantern generated walls, Constantine watches the helicopters start their approach atop the cruiser in disgust while holding a flowerpot with a daisy.  

Swamp Thing - Smiles, in a near normal voice, "You owe me."

Constantine - "Fine.  Wait did you just ..."

Swamp Thing grabs him and throws him hard over the wall screaming toward Darkseid's cruiser.

The helicopters land and the Squad disembarks with the military back-up.

Harley - "Okay !  We're here !"  They look around ...
________________

Darkseid stands over the designs for the ship while DeSaad observes, a young Orion peers over the table to see.

Darkseid - "Are the ports well protected ?"

DeSaad - "As thick as the hull, my lord.  Sealed flush and indistinguishable."

Darkseid - "Ah ..."
________________

Constantine flies through the air curled around the flowerpot in a fetal position, cigarette in his teeth, eyes winced hard shut.
____

Deadshot locks on and looks closer at his approach before the flowerpot bursts into life and the Swamp Thing lands on the deck holding Constantine like a baby.  He opens his eyes and gives the smiling Thing a dirty look, jumping down and dusting the potting soil off.

He sees Harley and smiles, makes a picture box with his thumbs, looking through one eye while she smiles and poses snapshots.  He pulls out a can of spray paint, and begins painting, looks up from his work and back down, finishing and standing over a demonic sigil and smiling at her again.

He removes a blood filled syringe and squirts it in the center with a wink (cat shriek sound). He takes a last drag before throwing his cigarette in the blood.
____

Lucifer and Satan play chess in Hell.

Lucifer - "Checkmate."

Satan - "God _Damn_ it !  So what do you want ?"  Flips the board.

Lucifer - "It's little bit embarrassing, actually ..."
____

Diablo bursts from the sigil in flames, then human.

Constantine takes a bow and Harley squeals running forward with open arms, past him to his disappointment, hugging Diablo.

He watches them sadly as Swamp Thing hands him a daisy.

He exhales, closes his eyes, takes the daisy and is tossed screaming from the deck as Thing's husk body falls.

Diablo begins a full blast of fire, roaring his rage at the deck until he burns again, tearing and digging at the molten deck, Tunneling through.  All prep weapons (many explosives).

Rip - Storm brewing around them, between getting hit, "Do _you_ - Even _know_ - What you've _done ?!"_

A Sarah - "Yah !"  A punch with a jolt.

A Sarah - "We all thought about it and were like ..." A kick with spinning whirlwind.

A Sarah - "What would the great ..."  A slap spinning him, then mocking his voice  _" 'Rip Hunter'_ we actually _liked_ have done ?"

A Sarah - "Anything !"  A hit spinning him.

A Sarah - "It Takes !"  A gusting kick to the face.

A Sarah - "To Save !"  Another spinning punch, lowering him for balance.

A Sarah - "His _Family !"_  Horizontal drop kick putting him down with a lightning strike.

Flagg - Looking down the hole, yelling over the battlefield, "We've got to wait for that to cool down ... now here's the deal."  He glances into the tunnelling hole, "He doesn't give a fuck about this because he's already dead.  Now _as soon as we jump in that hole,_ those battleships open fire and they keep firing until they can't.  And then they're gonna toss whatever's left, _right_ at this _hole._

Deadshot zooms his rifle on the circling battleship turning it's cannons, taking fire from beneath their own feet.  Atlanteans shoot down the majority of artillery as Deadshot zooms to an impatient looking Superman, looking back.

He lowers the rifle and says in a normal volume, gesturing to it, "Sorry, this is how I look at things."

He looks back through the scope and sees Superman nod, then gesture with his head to 'please jump in the hole now', before shooting a rocket with his eyes.

He lowers the rifle.  "Huh.  That's cool." He turns to see everyone staring at him.

Flagg - "Yeah.  Well this ship's going _down,_ is what I'm saying."
________

A Sarah - "And _Why_ don't you cry when we hit you ?!"  Face kick tossing him off another's kick back.

Rip - On his knees, face healing, "Oh I was ready for _you_ Miss Canary.  But just so you know, it really does actually hurt still.  I just don't care anymore."

A Sarah - "Good."  

He catches the punch in a storm.

Rip - Wounds healing, "Therapy's over.  Are we feeling tired yet ?"  

They look at each other ...

Sarahs - "No ... no we're good."

A Sarah - "So ... dislocation then ?"

Sarahs - Nodding agreement, "Sure !  Yeah.  Lets try it."

Rip - "Oh no."

_! Crack !_

Flagg looks spits down the glowing hot metal hole, then looks to Deadshot.  "Now _you_ they can work with because you got a kid.  I'm not saying I agree with how they _do_ things, I'm saying that's how they do things.  So _you_ they give a _pardon._

Flagg - The rest of you ... they've got plausible deniability you died right here and _when_ this ship goes down it's gonna kick up a lot of dust, you get me ?  So you are _all D. O. A._  Just as _soon_ as you jump in that hole.  Waller's word.  And these grunts here ..."  He motions to the grinning soldiers, "they're about fucked like you.  Pulled their asses out of the brig for all _kinds_ of shit."

Harley - "What about you ?"

Flagg - "Me ?  I'm career man.  I love this shit."  He looks over the field.  "Hole's cooled down."

Harley - "You're fucking nuts dude."  She jumps in.

(Everything inside the cruiser is in extreme slow motion, everything outside is in real time.  It's stretched over the length of the song, until the crash.  All is silent but for the song.)

June Moone (former enchantress) holds Zoe (Deadshot's daughter) while they watch the squad enter the hole atop the cruiser on the news, armed guards behind them.

Diana approaches a wooden gate leading to a cave in a stony hill.
________

As each member slides down the hole they come out in slow motion firing away, cutting and doing what they do.  
____

June clutches Zoe while tears start streaming through looks of horror and shock.  "no ..."
____

Slow fire blooms ahead of them from Diablo's rampage, while outside in real time, the battleships resume their fire, circling the cruiser.
____

Inside the squad runs (in slow) down a walkway overlooking the massive deployment bay, tossing grenades while the soldiers fire RPGs.
____

Tanks and gathered military pound from the field while the battleships circle.  
____

Inside a slow bullet passes through the head of an invader and works it's way down the walkway.
____

Outside rows of gun placements blow from withing while the pounding from the battleships continues, as if following the bullet's path.
____

The bullet flies past and though reaching hands and crowding crew, climbing the many stairs from below along their path.
____

Explosions continue following outside.
____

Steppenwolf turns from the doorway to the control room, the bullet bouncing off his helmet's guard.  Diablo roars and charges forward, engulfing everything in flame.
____

The cruiser begins to shudder from explosions within and without as it's course veers, the hull beginning to twist in a groan.  Clark and Kara, now free of incoming artillery to block, start hitting the hull with their eyes.
____

Zoe's mother turns to the news on her way out the door noticing. then staring, while her boyfriend packs emergency supplies.
____

The crew of the battleships begin parachuting from the now wreckage, along with the Atlanteans who dive off as into the water, all firing below into the thick invading army.  They extend simple descent gliders, designed to flap as one would swim, slowing their descent.
____

Inside the team holds the control room as Diablo pounds Steppenwolf, all smashing and blowing systems, fire and explosions all around, holding off invaders at the door, Darkseid on his way behind them.
____

Kara and Clark throw the husks of the now empty battleship wrecks directly at the weak spot of the hole, one after the other.
____

Luna stares crying while holding Zoe sobbing against her chest.
________

Diana screams and crashes the gate with her fist, entering the cave.
________

The cruiser buckles and twists before striking the ground, dust and dirt flung as it grinds rolling to it's top, blinding all view.

Second Wave

after the intermission ~
________________

Constantine rolls the coffin out on a dolly in front of a green screen for filming.  He wipes sweat off with a handkerchief, leans on the coffin and lights a cigarette.

Off camera - Echoing in the empty studio, "Hey put that out !"

Constantine - Toward the voice, "Hey _fuck_ you !"

He looks at the camera, looking it over as if judging the audience.

Constantine - "Yeah, I guess you're alright.  Come on in."

He walks off the screen flicking the cigarette behind him before the coffin explodes open.

Solomon Grundy - Roars _"!!! GRUNDY !!!"_ clicking the backdrop to the very active battlefield.

Solomon Grundy's original nursery rhyme (19th century) angrily chanted by a children's choir, repeated with increasing intensity through the scene :

Twitching zombies haul themselves from the ground aggressively around Solomon Grundy with his roar.  They all charge past the wall of Lanterns and Legends into the wave of invaders, more crawling from the ground in their wake, all seeking to devour on both sides.

Behind their charge, the 'Legion of Doom' base (the classic one, with the big red windows) rises over the hill.  Spinning slowly as it moves, firing at the troops atop the carriers and showering the hovering parademons.

The large windows are lined with jeering and taunting villains in black turtlenecks and caps, all randomly spray painted 'Scum'.  Middle fingers and mooning, shaking their guns.  At the center, Lex sits in focus in at console stabilized not to spin with the rest.

On the ground a bat tank rolls, surrounded and followed by Arkham's inhabitants, many with a bat sprayed across their eyes, some branded.

A military air squadron bombs from overhead, taking immediate fire.  One jet takes a hit and heads low toward the gate.  Then fires the after burner over the field on the way where Darkseid's army gathers.  (Afterburner is when a pilot dumps fuel behind the plane and ignites it, _Boom !_ gives the burst of speed or in this case ignites everything at the gate on both sides)

He ejects before it makes the gate, loading two pistols in their push holsters (they exist) before drawing as the chute pulls, then shooting his way to the ground.  The other jets are downed around him, the invader refocusing on the defensive wall.  

Beneath the descending pilot an alien Lantern fights a mob of invaders fleeing the explosions from the gate, and the pilot joins him back to back as they fight them off together.  

The Lantern has a broad plate across each of his knuckles, generating lance like blades through his approaching targets, occasionally drawing one back as a shield, responsive around both to incoming fire and a shard of debris from the explosion.

The alien takes a stray shot from the last to fall.  As he dies their bodies are pulled into one nearly as a spirit.  While the alien's skeleton falls, the pilot now wears his rings.  They assimilate forming system gauntlets with readouts of the data around him, with variable preloaded options, forming a basic translucent armor with readouts over the face with projections and targets marked over the field.

In a rage from the power, blood-lust and revenge sought, he pounds his fists to the ground and springs to the center of combat, tearing through the invaders.  He lances forth through the lines toward the gate.
________

Windows on the Legion carrier slide open dropping rope as it spins.  The villains descend, one after the other, shooting all in the path in their slow turn, Deathstroke leading the attack.
________

Ivy, clutching an armload of chemicals and seed (evidence tagged) walks up behind Swamp Thing at the edge of the battlefield as he tangles the feet of the walkers.

Ivy - "What are you doing ?"  She watches the vines grow.

Swamp - "I'm thinking about ... what I want to do to their cities."  He looks at her, "To yours, I mean."

Ivy - Looks at him from his arms into the ground and catching distant walkers, weaving a forest between.  She throws the seed into the field and charges over one of his arms into the field, sprouting vines between the limbs as he grows them.
____

Trees and vines fill the feet and joints of the Darkseid's walking craft (these, like all of his tech,  are imagined to be _very_ basic, as they've recycled the same technological resources over thousands of years, only augmented every thousand years or so with a conquest.  Essentially rectangular troop carrying buckets with legs and cannons).

A thick dark forest is woven between them as they struggle and shoot until completely immobilized while zombies continue to attack underneath. Troops atop the walkers fire desperately down into a panic.

The ropes from the Legion carrier drag over the stalling walkers as the villains drop down, clearing the remaining invaders from above, covered by carrier guns, while the zombies sweep the ground troops below.

Vines grow seemingly wherever they need to spread while in the distance the swamp thing has become deeply rooted.  Deathstroke commands the security teams, supported by the random villains.

Bruce rises from his tank, armor still dented from Clark's shout, sparking at the neck.  He leaps forward into the woods, followed by the charging Arkham inhabitants.

Past the mechanical forest is a clearing where Darkseid's troops amass, behind them is the crashed cruiser, partially obscuring the gate behind that.  Seen into the gate is a seemingly endless gathering of Apokolips' citizens gathering and moving through, more walkers towering over them into infinity.
________________

As if plucked from the field, Jordan is somersaulted backward to behind the Lanterns wall, still being pounded hard, Lanterns struggling against the impact, directing it to the ground behind them.

The apparent leader of the Lanterns approaches and looks at the name on the uniform.

Lantern - "What are you ?"  He grabs Jordan's hand and pulls at a knuckle ring, then smiles as they watch it glow dangerously in response, rebuilding the translucent shielding around him.  He looks up again "What are you ?"

Jordan - "A man."

Lantern - Laughing into his eyes, "And what is that to me ?"

Jordan - Smiles as his hand goes to the gun, "I think that's a good question too."

Lantern - "Yes !  Yes let us do that.  We will ... 'draw'..  This is how we train our children.  I will show mine.  They will then be proud and emulate me I think, so Yes !  _Draw,_ cowboy."

Jordan - "... seriously ?"

Lantern - "... yes.  I do actually mean it.  It will help you throw those away when we're done."

Jordan - "... these were my dad's."  New clips, then holster loaded.

Lantern - "... oh ..."

12 shots, blocked in a wisp of blades from the commander's rings.

Lantern - "Oh Yes !"  He peers into the the readouts on his wrist "Did you see ?"

Children's voices - "We love you daddy !"

Lantern - "Yes !  A real cowboy !"

Children - "Yay !"

Lantern - Looks at Jordan, "They love me.  Well you do in fact seem _somewhat_ worthy of the rings ... and getting them off would require murder and or dismemberment at this point ... but unfortunately you have no idea what you're doing and so we really don't need you here.  We'll check in. You may _resume_ whatever ... ground pounding mayhem you had previously intended, I'm sure I've distracted an _extraordinary_ display of your ... 'man-ness'.  Enjoy."  

He taps a virtual button on his wrist, and Jordan is flipped back to the field.

Young Orion with Darkseid and the DeSaad.

Darkseid - "But these deployment planks ... why do they slope inward at the bottom?  It looks to waste disembarkation space."

DeSaad - Smiles, "Ah yes !  _That_ is so that the ship's massive weight may _gouge_ the planet's surface,"  shaking his fist,  _"scarring_ it as you deploy."

Darkseid - Smiles "Ahhh ... yes.  Of course.  I like that."

Orion - "But _why_ does it scar the surface ?"

They look at him as though he were insane.

Orion - "Ah.  Yes.  Of course."  Meanders and leaves the room, returning to replace the model back on the table and leaving again while they stare in confusion.

Darkseid - After Orion leaves, "... it's his mother."

DeSaad - "Ah ... yes.  I understand ... my ... daughter ... she ... she just became a superhero."

Darkseid - Stares gravely, putting his hand on his shoulder.  "I am so sorry."

The planks fly open on the upside down craft spilling dead and wreckage across the site.

Darkseid - Pulling himself from the pile,  _"! Second Wave !"_
________________

Cautious invaders wander the deep woods ... a black horse flies past behind a squad.

Scarecrow - "Chemical experiment !"

They turn as a poof of powdery smoke hits the face of one in the middle spreading among them.  The invaders look around around drugged as images turn to horror.

Scarecrow - Peering from shadows, "Oh well _that_ is _very_ good to know ..."  He hears the sound of bats.  "Oops !  Time to go !"  He flees fast on horse into the mechanical woods.

A modulated voice from the shadows around the huddled invaders ...

"I ... am the terror ... which _flaps_ in the night ..."

Amanda laughs over the comm, unknown if she's aware it's on speaker ... "Oh my god Bruce you have stop !"  She trails off laughing.

Bruce - Laughing on speaker and trying to compose himself, (modulator off) "Okay okay just wait, hang on ..."

The invaders stare all around them at the shimmering and growing woods.

Bruce - (Modulated) "I am ... _! The Batman !"_

A cape flies over view to mad laughter and horrified screams.

Jordan flies screaming back to the commander and lands hard, obviously having been knocked there.

Lantern - Watching him get up, "So you've met Darkseid I see."

Jordan - "Fuck !  Yeah !  That big blue mother ..." goes running back into the field while Lantern rolls his eyes.

Lantern children voices - "Oooo ..."

Amanda - Sitting at the console watching, "So where the hell is Alfred ?  Isn't he supposed be bringing me your tea by now ?"

Bruce - On the comm with the sounds of aliens getting hit.  "He's been gone for a while."  

More pounding in the background "I surrender !"  "No you don't."

Bruce - "Anyway he's a ..." while hitting, "Very !  Complicated !  Man !"

Alfred jolts awake in a hammock, wearing a safari hat.  He looks around confused while scratching his forearm.

Amanda - Pulling a photo from the manila envelope.  "Yes ... I've got his service record right here.  The real one."

Alfred in an old photograph sneering close at Adolf Hitler's face, fingers in the old 'V' sign up between them.

Bruce - "You probably know more about him than I do then."  

The sound of breaking bone and alien screams.

Amanda - "Probably."

The rest of the photo shows Hitler's head is on the end of Alfred's bayonet in a South American jungle.

Jordan - Getting up again from another hard landing, "So why'd the _other_ guy break formation ?"

Lantern - "Oh.  Well ... he was stupid like you.  We really didn't know him very well ... or long ... we think your rings might be broken actually, but they're horribly expensive to replace and they keep jumping to someone else _equally_ stupid before we get can to it anyway !  But never to anyone we really feel the _specific_ need to kill or dismember so ... we just go with it."  He glances suspiciously at Jordan's rings.  "Though they _do_ tend to veer toward this sector ..."

Jordan - Giving a dirty look, "You know I think I'm just going to try shooting him this time."  Draws his guns walking back to the field.

Lantern children - "Yay !"

An invader turns terrified into the shadows and thumps into Bruce's armored chest, still sparking.

Bruce - Leans over staring hard at the invader until he begins to cringe, then through the modulated voice, "I'm Batman !"  

He and Amanda break out laughing unmodulated as the invader flees in terror and confusion.

Darkseid thuds down next to the Lantern commander, gets up and dusts himself while the surrounding Lanterns look panicked.  He sneers at the commander, who shrinks a bit, before he turns back to the battlefield, tossing a wall bearing Lantern in his way (Lantern Wilhelm).

Lantern children - "Woooow ..."

Lantern - Whispering, "I got a picture !"

Children - "Yay !"

Near Darkseid's wrecked cruiser, Clark and Kara stare at Jordan a bit confused and looking tired, the surrounding army looking equally surprised and in pause.

Jordon - Pistols extended into rail guns running up his arms, "... hi ..."  He waves the arms a bit, "Desert Eagle."  They stare, heads cocked.  "... Copper jackets ... ?"

Heat beams tearing ground to plug the hole, guns shooting back the carriers, they try to hold back the hoard.

Darkseid tears angrily through the vines, tossing zombies, then is hit in the face with a puff of smoke.  He grunts and rubs his eyes.

Scarecrow - Jumping out of the brush, "Boo !"

Darkseid - "What ?"

Scarecrow - "Oh.  Well.  Never mind then."  Jumps back into the brush.

Darkseid looks around, cracking a zombies neck as it still grabs for him.  Screams and vines growing, gunfire and blasts, explosions in the distance.

Darkseid - Tossing the zombie, "Madness."

Amanda's laughter in the distance with the sound of bats ...

Jordan - Fighting near Arthur, "So what's _your_ deal ?"

Arthur - "I'm from Atlantis"

Jordan - "You mean like the conspiracy ?"

Arthur - "Conspiracy ?"

Jordan - "Yeah you guys built the pyramids for aliens and put eyeballs on all our money."

Arthur - "That does sound like something my queen might do, yeah."

Jordan - "Who's your queen ?"

Arthur - "She's there."

He points to Mera slaughtering through the field with her guard.

Arthur - Smiles, "I marry her if I live."

Jordan - "So you'll be king then ?"

Arthur - "That was yesterday."

Mera smiles at Arthur across the field between kills.

Walking through the forest ...

The sound of a cracked whip and Darkseid trips onto his face.  Looking up from the mud, he sees a cute kitten.

Catwoman - Curling her whip from the tree above in the shadows, "I've caught one."

Penguin - "Well, lets take a look then."  He shoots him in the head.

Darkseid tries to leap up and falls again with a crack of the whip.

Penguin - "Bulletproof."

Scarecrow - Walking from the brush, "Smoke free generation, too."

Catwoman - "Do you think he might be their king ?"

As he pulls himself with an eye to the tree a vine flips him on his back, burying him in growth.

Ivy - "He may well be ... Still stupid."

A log drops on his head and he furiously tears from the vine and leaps up looking around, seeing nothing.  He turns annoyed, continuing to the field and hears the sound of bats behind and shudders a bit, turning back, seeing nothing again.  

Tuning back toward the field his face hits Bat-fist.  He stops and winces his eyes in broiled rage and punches.

Bruce - Sailing through the air, "So ... he hits really hard."

Amanda - Paging through the envelope, "Do _you_ know of any kind of ... wonderful kryptonite type weakness ?  There's nothing in here on that."

Bruce - Still sailing, "I looked at some ... (muffled) books ... I couldn't find one.  There's a bunch on a younger ... pinker version though."

Amanda - Defensively, "It's _fuchsia !"_

Cratered with a one second sound clip from the song 'thriller' leading into the next scene.

Hades - "Orion is right."

Persephone - "They _are_ feared."

Hades - "Brutal."

Persephone - "Vicious to all things."

Hades - "One another and beyond."

Persephone - "With no idea how many watch."

Hades - "Or from how many places."

Diana - "They are warriors."

Hades - A laugh, "Murderers with reasons."

Persephone - "And without ... no.  Diana, I'm sorry."

Hades - "We cannot help you."

Persephone - "We see little difference between them and whomever may win ..."

Hades - "We see the same."

Diana - A pause then tersely, "I will take your wisdom to my meditations ... but they will be your last words if you stand in my way."

Persephone - Draws her sword and places it ready in her lap. "Diana, think about this."

Diana - "I needn't as clearly you have for too long.  Yet you _still_ misunderstand.  I came to release the Gargareans from your prison.  Not to discuss the philosophy of human evolution."

Hades - "Diana of Amazon, do you not consider your meaning, if even you do not bluff the gods ?"

Persephone - "Your people will stand by you no more.  They give us honor.  But you ..."

Hades - "You come like a beggar then thief."

Persephone - "A murderer."

Diana - Drawing her sword, "Do we fight or do I pass ?"

Hades - "And why would you kill for killers, then come begging life from death ?"

Diana - With impatience, "Because you are right.  Because they are warriors and will _always_ be warriors.  They need guidance.  Honor.  Teachers.  Gargareans.  Amazons."

Persephone - Staring, "... and here too you are right.  Everyone is right and so there will be blood, to be yours or ours."

Hades - "Or all of us together but still ... we cannot let you pass."  

Persephone - "The dead are dead."

They lean back in their thrones staring, weapons in their laps, while Diana's path lay between them.

Diana - "And there will be death long after you're _gone !"_  She leaps forward to the door past, unknown if stopped.

On the river Styx

Charon - Pushing the boat with his pole, "And did you then kill them ?"

Diana lowers her head.
________

They spin from their thrones, blades twirling with their robes.  Diana is faster, but they work as one when Persephone sneaks in a dagger to Diana's side and kicks the back of her knees, kneeling her as she spins off while Hades puts an old world war one service revolver to her forehead.

Persephone - Licks the blade, "It's poisoned Diana.  We are death."

Hades - "Do you think you're going anywhere when this is done ?"  Cocks the gun, looking at her with curiosity, "So answer me this, that I may hear your answer both before and after you die ..."

His eyes go wide and he falls from the end of Persephone's dagger.

Persephone - "Poisoned with your blood, did you know ?"  She falls.

Charon - Near the shore, "Then we are free."  Puts his hand on her shoulder.  The boat hits land as he looks around with a small laugh before stepping off the boat and disappearing, clothing and pole falling to the ground.

Diana, now wearing Charon's cloak and carrying the pole, reaches a cliff where she sees a man looking over holding a bow, also cloaked.

Diana - Calls to him in the wind, "Gargarean !"

He turns back to look at her, "Who says that word ?"

His eyes burn and in them she see Greek soldiers burning woods, Amazons of old fleeing their lobs of fire to regroup the village.  The Gargareans charge from the wood head on to the Greeks.

Diana - "We need you."

Gargarean - Laughs and turns to the cliff, _"Gargareans !  We Ride !"_

Thousands cheer from over the cliffs, prepping themselves to mount their black horses.

Hippolyta sits on her throne holding a Diana's crown in her lap mournfully.  An Amazon walks up and whispers in her ear.

Hippolyta - "Oh Diana ..."  A tear falls as she crushes the crown.

The Amazon bows and continues to whisper.

Hippolyta - Looking up with hope in her eye through tears she whispers back, "We ride."

Darkseid exits the mech-woods kicking off zombies with annoyance, and scans the field before the gate.  The Atlanteans hold those pouring from the gate, but appear soon to be overwhelmed by the countless coming.  

The crashed cruiser divides the field, much smaller on the left, forcing his armies through on the right.  Clark, Kara, and Jordan wait on the left chatting, Darkseid heads that way.

Jordan - Eying the crackling green around Clark's broken armor, "So that was you that destroyed that city, right ?  And that island ?"

Clark - "And an indestructible monster.  After which I died.  And then an army of _invaders._ and.  And then ..."

Jordan - Gesturing to the gate, "You mean _that_ army ?"

Green crackles from clark's eyes.

Kara - "I didn't destroy anything !"

Jordan - "You an alien too ?"

Kara - Looking sideways at Clark, "Yes.  But you didn't know that because I didn't destroy a city and an island."

Clark - "I died.  Saving the world."

Kara - "Whatever.  I do that every week.  You do it like once every year or two."

Jordan - Looking now at Kara suspiciously, "So ... what's with the outfit ?"

Kara - Snickering, "... these are my alien pajamas.  I fight in them for confidence."

Darkseid - _"What_ are you _babbling_ about ?"

"Oh Shit !"

Kara - While fighting, to Jordan, "Get to the wall !"  

Clark - "With growing field and rage, "We've got this."
________

The general and Comm stand on the hill watching the tree-mech line as the villains begin to exit.  Past the the onslaught from Apokalypse is temporarily held.  He lowers the binoculars and looks where the Comm is looking.

The Legends are grouped together, seven of each, one painting skulls on the faces of the six like others.  Storms gather around, tornadoes approach.

Comm - Watching from the side, "What's happening ?"

General - "They already died protecting the Earth before.  Right here.  Now."

Some pray together, some mourn and drink, some salute as the skulls separate from the rest and walk toward the field.

General - "So now, to protect the time-line, they _have_ to die."

Comm - "And if they fail ?  If we all fail ?"

Sarah walks to them as the departing head toward a growing tree-bridge over the field.  She drops a heavy duffel bag from which Hunter groans.  

Sarah - "Then we take Hunter's ship and do it all over again.  Number eight and it's _our_ turn to cross that bridge."  She puts a manila envelope on the table, Constantine joins, putting down his and looking at his watch.

Comm - "You've fought this war ..."

Sarah - "Six times before this, at least me.  As many times as it takes.  Forever.  We've _all_ died here today.  Even you.  It's just their turn to do it again.  And each time we learn a better way to do it."

The Legends cross the bridge, geared heavily, storm swirling around as the tree bridge grows over the mech-forest beneath, roses grow lining their path as they walk.  Swamp Thing builds the structure, Ivy the lattices and roses.

Diana rides an upward cavern with the pole as lance among the Gargareans, earth caving around and before them.
____

The zombies pause in their meals looking up with a brief awe as they pass over, following underneath shyly.
____

Hippolyta, with Amazon riders lined at an archway holds her sword high, before slamming into the ground, activating the gate.
____

Reaching the other side to the open field gathering the roar their charge directly toward the portal to Apokalypse, followed by the hoard and storm.

Amazons port to their left, Gargareans burst from the ground to their right, all sending waves of arrows to clear their path.
____

Clark and Kara continue to fight Darkseid, who moves like a competent boxer, fast and stout, making all the right hits and blocks while they work.  Grabbing kicks and take downs, but with no clear victories for any.  As Clark's discharge grows it has little effect on Darkseid, but appears to weaken Kara.
____

The Legends' army force their way and make the gate, supported by the Atlanteans, continuously charging against the wall of invaders, all covering each other to keep the motion forward, as they fall one by one, with great destruction in their wake, multiplied by their time distortions.

The field gathers near the gate to hold it against the invasion, Lanterns moving their walls forward setting them hard into the ground close to the gate, while behind them the military blows the mech-forest, tanks advancing over the rubble.

EDL (part seven)

Darkseid hears the sounds from across the field opposite the crash site, grabs Clark and throws him down, kicks Kara away and stomps Clark's back hard into a leap over the cruiser.

He lands before his still approaching army and roars his rage, knocking many back and blasting a dusty wind.  

Darkseid - A pause is forced as he roars, "Madness !  Chaos and destruction !"

His army gathers behind him carrying pieces of the dead, eating.

Darkseid - Roars continuing to blast back soldiers and artillery, bullets and all, "I will be a _Hero_ for your destruction !"

Darkseid - "Hated !  Destroyers !  Feared and plotted against in silence by the galaxy !  _The Universes beyond Count !"_

Clark hovers down in front of him, armor shredding, crackling green and red eyed.

Darkseid - Spoken, watching him descend, "And you."  Looks to the side seeing Kara hovering over the cruiser.  A short laugh to himself, then looking back, "A workout soon to end."

Orion smiles from the hill.

Orion - Looking the distance at Clark, "He can hear them coming.  He knows he's lost."  He smiles wider, "He can hear me talking to you right now."

Darkseid - Looking angrily from the hill back to Clark, "Madness."

Blinding lights from the hill surround them suddenly, engines rev across the field, shotguns are loaded, chainsaw cords are pulled.

Darkseid looks around blinded, then up as a rumbling and lights fill the skies all around.

Constantine stands behind the Oracle, silently peering over her shoulder.

John - "Whoa."

Repeat of the message translated around the world.

Clark - (Biker bars) "People of Earth.  We've got to warn you."  

Flash running in China.

Diana - "You _must prepare, all_ of you."

Flash running in France.

Bruce - (Cos-play conventions) "An invasion force comes to take _everything_ we have."

Flash - Standing in in the president's bedroom, news on behind him (of the president), "And sir.  They're going to eat us."

The president drops his donut.

Darkseid - "Madness."

('Super Stupid' by Funkadelic)

Clark - Smiles and holds up a tiny flashing chip, then swallows it.  "Welcome to Earth."

Tanks fill the hills between the headlights and take aim, missiles approach from the sky as mobile launchers pull up behind the tanks.

Clark - "Everyone here knows I can take it.  So how about you ?"  He holds out his arms,  _"! Fire !"_

Everything fires as the missiles strike, while Clark wrestles Darkseid, holding his head in front of a missile, tossing him into another, taking some himself, laughing as his rage and discharge grows in the flames, missiles targeting the tracking chip.

The lanterns begin moving the walls into a circle around Clark and Darkseid, containing the blasts while Jordan takes subduing shots at Darkseid (back of the knee, etcetera)

His blinded army pours against the Amazons, Gargareans and Atlanteans, while tanks move forward, reinforced by pretty much everyone.  Biker gangs, farmers with chainsaws and threshers, cos-players, nuns, everything.

Be imaginative ...

Aircraft carriers arrive from around the world, emptying their decks, helicopters arrive from US bases, soldiers deploy on the field, alongside those from every nation, jets launch rockets and missiles into the gate, creating wreckage of the walkers and slowing the advance, as the people take the gate front.

Aliens chased by threshers, people flipping burgers on the hill, handing out boards with nails and barbed wire, people in beach chairs drinking and cheering while all the roads fill with vehicles coming and pouring through the fields.

World leaders (as many real as possible, others as doubles) ride missiles across the sky, dancing.  The last being Elizabeth with tiny poodle missiles for poodles on leashes, followed by the Duke's snapping jaws.  They descend into a camera shot to Darkseid's face, held in place by Clark then followed quickly by his fist.

Clark continues to pound his fury against Darkseid, hitting hard and fast, roaring and throwing him against the hull of his cruiser, continuing blindly.  He throws Darkseid to the ground and elbow drops him again, continuing to beat him as Darkseid begins to fade reaching blankly up.

Others around call to him beyond his hearing as he continues.

Orion walks up to him and puts out his forefinger, stopping Clark's fist in a shimmering wave, the sound of a gong underwater.  

Bruce's voice - "Fields of wheat ..."  

Clark looks up and the field is empty of all but they three, and wheat blowing in a calm breeze, undisturbed, never a battle.  

Orion - Circling around staring at Clark as Darkseid reaches for him, "And do you wish to rule, Kal of El ?"  

Clark stares at him astounded.  Orion stares back at him while he stomps Darkseid's head, crushing it.  The ground cracks as the world returns to battlefield and the cheering people of Apokolips.  

Orion - Still staring at Clark, _"! We return !"_  He continues staring at him while his people exit the gate behind him turning away only to exit, the last.  The gate closes after him, showing nearly no destruction on the other side, peaceful in the silence of all the world's eyes and commanders, heroes and villains, it's people.

Clark looks around at the people, the destruction and death, tears off the last of his armor and walks away toward the peaceful plains, through where Orion had walked into the tall grains.  Some move to catch up and the disturbed wheat shows he's disappeared with great speed.

The camera sweeps in front of the massive human army, heroes, villains, soldiers and just people, then behind them to show their size and the untouched wheat before them.

Harley stares at the broken bat-tank, considering, while she hacks at her ponytails with a combat knife. A bat-harrier lands behind it, the pilot walks up dragging airlift chains and stands next to her, tapping a wrench on her leg.

Harley - Looks her over then back to the tank, "So you work for Batman, huh ? What's that like ?"

Jet - "It's okay ... pays well. Keeps trying to call me 'Batgirl' though."

Harley - Looks at her again, still hacking, "That's kind of creepy."

Jet - "Yeah ... we settled on 'Jet' ... because of the jet. I think he just has a bad memory for names."

Batman - To Jet while she pries a circus mallet out of the front end of a broken batmobile. "Uh. What's your name again ?"
____

Jet - Looks at her, "Hey don't you date the Joker ?"

Harley - "Yeah ... I don't know. He's getting kind of old ... and they never let him out of the restraints anymore"

Joker's cell filled with guards playing cards around him as a table. He shakes the table, spilling money.

Guard - "Get used to it wild, you're all we've got left."

Harley - "He makes me wear really dumb clothes sometimes too."

Jet - Rolls her eyes, "Tell me about it ..."

They stare at the broken tank.

Harley - Hair hacked off. "So ... I guess I'm dead now,"

Jet - "Ugh, vacation. Sounds lovely."

They stare again at the tank, Jet assessing the damage with an annoyed sigh.

Harley - Looks at her as she flips the wrench. "Hey you don't know how to fix tanks do you ? Because I was just wishing for that right before you got here."

Upon returning to Apokalypse, Orion sees his people gathered around something. Approaching he sees a small fruit tree bearing much fruit, growing and aggressively working it's roots through the hard soil, clearly made by the Swamp Thing.

Orion smiles looking at an apple and all fades to the laughing green head on the computer screen from the opening, before it blips out to darkness.

Orion - To Barry, "What is it like ?"

Barry - "Really ?"

Orion - "Yes, you have a unique existence and I'm curious.  What is that like ?"  A pause.  "I'm not going to eat you, by the way."

Barry - "That's true."

Orion - A short laugh, "Indeed you would be hard to catch, but our physicists have determined that your flesh may decay into a lower vibration in our intestinal tracks.  One day you may realize that you are the key to what you call 'Grand Unification Theory'.  And so I wonder ... what is it like to run ?"

Barry - Taking a moment to consider the many things, sets it aside, "Like falling through information.  I can move as fast as I can understand it.  I don't know how that links to the vibrations of particles ... or any of that.  But that's what it's like.  The rest ... I just accept that that's what's happening because it's what make the most sense to me ... and my friends, right _now_."

Orion - Considers this with a nod.  "Hm."

Barry - "So your physicists studied me as food ?"

Orion - Looks at him as though it were foolish question.  "Well yes !  We don't just 'eat things'.  But we _did_ determine that it can in fact be cooked off then expanded with the proper yeast, but the process leaves it far too burned and flavorless for something so difficult to catch."

Barry - "I suppose that's true and good."

Orion - "Perhaps how you would view most rodents."

Barry - Pauses, then bursts out laughing _"Oh my god you are Such an ! ASSHOLE !_

Orion - Laughing with him, "Yes ... yes, it's true.  We all are.  But when once there were so many of you it was worthy of study."

Bruce - (as bat) "Commissioner Yindel."

Yindel - "Bat" Exhales smoke. "What ?"

Bruce - "I need Arkham."

Yindel - "I need a vacation. So sad."

Bruce - "Too bad."

She turns away, waits smoking impatiently,  then looks annoyed.

Yindel - "Isn't that when you're supposed to disappear ?"

She turns to see him still there.

Bruce - "I'll put back as many as I can." Turns and walks out the office door.

She thinks a moment, the runs to the door and looks down both ways of the busy hall, undisturbed. Furrows her brow.

Her phone rings, she looks - "Arkham - major breakout."

Yindel - _"! FUCK !_  APB on the bat and Every god damned inmate from Arkham !  _! NOW !"_
