Mr Gunn's always had a hard time breaking in, even in several years claiming to work for Troma, he really only made one film, 'Tromeo and Juliet', which was not particularly well received even in their questionable vein of very low expectations.  

In fact no film he ever made did make budget before Marvel, and no film has since.  

Nonetheless his ego, which was always in his way in the industry, proclaimed himself 'genius'.  When Marvel picked him up it was effectively out of the trash.

Deep in addiction, lost to his own self hatred, he couldn't help but bring known pedophile James Euringer ('Jimmy Urine' see below) with him for no clear reason but their friendship which has dogged him to this day.

It was his need to carry those who made him feel 'better than' which has always marked his associations, the weakness of his ego, leaving them nowhere else to turn, but back to him.  This is akin to a junky's way of thought.

No one who would make him feel small, only those he could make crawl.  This is why he still works with the same people these many years later, and why none have a career without him.  A means of control.  A safety net.  And human shields he can call upon to defend his 'decency' for sticking with them when no one else would.

Themselves never realizing he was the reason why hollywood discarded them in the first place.  Just as he keeps his own brother in his shadow, only allowing him the most self deprecating roles possible. 

The way of the junkie.

Never let the people close to you reach higher, it will only remind you how low it is where you are.  I saw much of this in my time in the 1992 Minneapolis punk music scene.  I can smell it on his ways directly, I always could.

And then came Marvel.  His big chance at last.

Note 'Jimmy Urine' was cast by James Gunn in Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and 2 by James Gunn, as well as in the video game 'Lollypop Chainsaw'.

James Gunn was mentioned in the complaint as having invited Euringer to his now well known pedophile themed party (Euringer was the one dressed as a rabbit).  The case was settled out of court November 26, 2024.

41. Knowledge and reports of Euringer’s pedophilia continue to circulate to this day. Recently, pictures of Euringer’s wife, Chantal, and a man wearing a masked full-body rabbit suit at a pedophile themed party surfaced publicly. Upon information and belief, the man wearing the rabbit suit is Euringer. That party was hosted by director James Gunn, and upon information and belief, attendees to the party were encouraged to dress like pedophiles and abuse victims, such as children. A copy of these pictures are annexed hereto, marked “EXHIBIT C,” and hereby made a part hereof.

The sexual assault and grooming trial of Jimmy Euringer, better known as Jimmy Urine, frontman for electropunk band Mindless Self Indulgence apparently wrapped up in March, but it seems that the details are just trickling out now.

To catch you up, back in 2021 a woman, who remained anonymous because she was a minor when this all happened, claimed that Euringer started a relationship with her when she was 15 and he was 27. The suit alleges that Euringer “groomed and manipulated [the girl] into believing that his sexually assaultive behavior was not criminal and that by engaging in sexual activity with him Plaintiff was actually helping to protect younger girls from sexual assaults.” She also claims that Euringer made her “act like a small child, and suck her thumb, drool, and pee in her pants” during sexual acts. The suit even alleges that Warner Music Group, Warner Communications LLC, Elektra Entertainment Group, and the band’s former manager Joseph Galus were all aware of the inappropriate relationship and did nothing to stop it.

According to The PRP, in March, Judge John P. Cronan agreed with the labels’ motion to dismiss claims against them, deeming that the plaintiff’s allegations didn’t meet the requirements needed under New York law. The claims against Galus were subsequently dismissed, too. With Euringer pushing to have the rest of the suit dismissed, he agreed to settle with the plaintiff out of court. With the settlement resolved, the case was closed on March 28.

Mindless Self Indulgence and Euringer have both been very quiet since this whole affair began, so it remains unclear if the band is going to continue on after this. Since I don’t think Mindless Self Indulgence is ever going to be as bulletproof as some other, big-name, (Antichrist) superstars who can seemingly get away with anything, I have I feeling this might spell the end of MSI.
